Long time no blog

Well it's been about four years since I have written a blog post of any kind so here I go, I any to steer off easy and kind of get into the swing of things again so I have decided that I will post a thing that I wrote about a year ago when I was trying to figure ou the most intriguing confusing thing ever... Women. Women: trying to understand the astounding To you, Whom it may concern, Feminine gentle creatures, you’re a mystery far more puzzling than space or the deepest oceans and yet infinitely more magnificent. To you who like some of the same songs we like, and some of the same songs we pretend not to like. To you who follow a sport (it’s probably football.) If you have a sin it’s probably salt, not Chocolate.  To you who remember which one of us you kissed first; we remember you, too. You think we kissed you, but in truth you kissed us. You who are more patient than we are, but you’re patience is far from infinite, and your rage, once triggered, runs deeper. You know how to hold a grudge. And yet stick with us longer than we deserve. You’re hearts beat faster than ours yet you live longer (That doesn’t make any sense.) To you who play bass guitar in an otherwise all-male band, and those who wear clear nail polish or none at all. You who look radiant in a $2,000 dress as well as a flannel shirt. You who broke a boy’s heart in 7th grade. You probably didn’t even know you did it, but you did.  You who if someone had harmed your child are capable of violence just as we are. You who would look beautiful without your tattoo or more of them. To you who still catch yourself wondering what life would have been like with him. To you who wars have been fought over since God made woman. You have given us purpose, to protect you from dragons, evil men, or even just the harsh word.  To you who are waiting for your knight to come riding in and swoop you off your feet. Or you who have already found him. I would just like to thank you for putting up with our tempers, our stubbornness, and even our mid-life crises. You who will miss us when we’re dead and gone, but not as much as we would miss you. Maybe that’s why we die first. Your hearts beat faster, but we must ride into the night to make ready your coming Sincerely and truly yours,    -Man

NBC doesn't get it!

Can someone please tell NBC that Monday night at 8pm is one of the toughest timeslots on television, if not THE toughest? Chuck is against Dancing With The Stars, The Big Bang Theory (which probably has many of the same viewers as Chuck) and House (one of the most popular shows on TV right now!) NBC obviously doesn’t realize that being able to pull in 6 million viewers during House AND Dancing With The Stars is nothing short of amazing! Move Chuck to Wednesday or Thursday at 8pm and I’m sure it would bring in MILLIONS more viewers.

Cooties Articles

These are some of the actual news articles I used for my Cooties Speech.

1.) WINNSBURGH-OH- In a move that surprised and shocked local officials, a splinter group of local 8-year-old boys has declared an outright war on their enemies, the Girls. "Girls are icky", said Jacob Anderson, leader of the boys, in a press conference at the local tree house Friday. "They have cooties", he continued, sticking out his tongue and blaming the girls for the cooties epidemic that swept the boy community 7 months ago. Jacob's parents have mixed feelings about the decision. "I don't know why he's doing this" said his mother, Ellen Anderson. "Oh, don't worry. He'll feel a lot different about girls when he's older." relied Jacob's father, Steve Anderson. He then winked. The conflict has resulted in several water-balloon fights in the area. A girl survivor, Meghan Howard, has decried the attacks as "Stupid" and "Dumb". Several of the boys involved in the attack have been grounded and forced to give up Power Rangers for a week.
2.) Ages 5 through 15 Cooties are known in Denmark as "pigelus" (literally "girl lice") and "drengelus" ("boy lice"), and in Norway "jentelus" ("girl lice) and "guttelus" ("boy lice"). In Sweden and Finland they are more prevalent in girls, where they are known as tjejbaciller"[4] (literally "girl bacillus") and "tyttöbakteeri" ("girl bacteria") respectively. In Great Britain "girl germs" and "boy germs" are also commonly used, as is mange. In south Wales the form is "scabs", and in Scotland "feechs".

3.) TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (CAP) - The government reissued its warning yesterday as four more children in Indiana were diagnosed with Cooties, bringing the total to 103 sick across eight states. Health experts say it's the worst outbreak in 27 years. "We cannot emphasize enough the importance of dressing children in long sleeves and avoiding contact with the other sex," said Dr. Drew Coleer at the Centers for Cooties Control in Atlanta. "It is parental apathy that is causing this outbreak to remain unchecked." The first reports of Cooties infections came to the CCC from Arlington Heights, Ill. last month and quickly spread to nearby states. Although health officials had no problem pinpointing the origin of the outbreak, Coleer said that knowledge did nothing to curb the disease. "We know that 8-year-old Amanda Lee didn't self-immunize with a verbal Cooties shot before coming in contact with classmate Tommy Bailey," said Coleer. "And she might have been fine had her friends not told her she had Cooties. Bailey then went on to infect 11 other girls that day." Previous outbreaks of Cooties have typically remained confined to a classroom, or at worst a school. According to Secretary of Health and Human Services Mike Leavitt, no outbreak has ever been as widespread geographically as this one. "We are investigating the possibility that Cooties can be contracted over the Internet," said Leavitt. "Sites like MySpace, StumbleUpon and LiveJournal add a new dimension to this battle that we've not seen before. This could be of epidemic proportions in the blink of an eye." Leavitt is asking parents to be vigilant of their children's use of those and other community-oriented websites and to report any suspicious activity directly to his office.

4.) MILFORD, Conn. (CBS) ― A Connecticut middle school principal has laid down the law: You put your hands on someone -- anyone -- in any way, you're going to pay. A violent incident that put one student in the hospital has officials at the Milford school implementing a "no touching" policy, according to a letter written by the school's principal. East Shore Middle School parents said the change came after a student was sent to the hospital after being struck in the groin. Principal Catherine Williams sent out a letter earlier in the week telling parents’ recent behavior has seriously impacted the safety and learning at the school. "Observed behaviors of concern recently exhibited include kicking others in the groin area, grabbing and touching of others in personal areas, hugging and horseplay. Physical contact is prohibited to keep all students safe in the learning environment," Williams wrote.

The Rich Young Ruler

I Have noticed that my posting have been put on the back-burner of late and here' a short and sweet one for you I taught a lesson not to long ago over Mark 10:17-31 and I for some reason decided to post the sermon notes for those of you who would like to look over them and get me some feedback on them it would be much appreciated. it really was a verse by verse breakdown instead of a big picture sermon.

“Rich Young Ruler” Notes

Mark 10:17 up until this point in the gospel you've only got the beggars; you've only got the people who physically need healing. As you can tell this man has no apparent need for Jesus. I want you to get the importance of this, we will have times in our lives when we are the beggars we are the, lame, the blind, and the deaf.

Mark 10:18 You must figure out what you call Jesus Christ.

Lewis expressed his idea in more than one place, but the most definitive appears in Mere Christianity:

“I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: “I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept His claim to be God.” That is the one thing we must not say. A man who said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.”

Lunatic?

If I were to say 'I'm god' you wouldn't say that Daniel has some good things to say... no would probably say something like "that kid needed to wear a bike helmet as a kid."

Liar?

1. Jesus said He was sinless. (John 8:46) 2. Jesus said He could forgive sin. 3. Jesus told everyone to pray to him as God.

Jesus is saying so you understand that I'm God because you are calling me good.

Mark 10:19 The commandments that Jesus lists are on the second half of the commandments and I mean that in the way of this, the first five are about honoring God and the second five are about how to love your neighbor.

Jesus is basically going are you doing these things, he's just poking and counseling.

Mark 10:20 Guys is he not just like us I mean to put it into today’s perspective he's saying "I've been going to church, taking notes on the sermons, going to every bible study I can find, I've sang every worship song out there. But something is still wrong, what's going on?"

The man is saying, "Yes, I’ve been doing these things since I was thirteen years old and something is still wrong."

Mark 10:21 and basically Jesus just said, "look you don't understand the gospel." Because guys the issue isn't money the issue is what is this man making his God. Jesus is saying that "yes you've done these things but you've failed to keep the first commandment which is ""Have no other gods before me.""

Guys I can just see Jesus looking at this guy, because you know he knows, and he looks at him in a very pastoral way and says "let me show you."

Mark 10:22 Guys whenever Jesus asks you to give something up you're only going to react in one of two ways. With joy or the way this guy does, and say "I can't do that."

And guys here's a big thing, that guy got it, even though he didn't want to hear it that guy got it. Because when Jesus shared that with him that man went "oh, you want me to do this." And he understood it.

Mark 10:29–30 Jesus is saying "guys you may have left all that or maybe they have disowned you, but you can expect to be welcomed into the homes and lands of other believers. But that doesn't mean it’ll be easy you guys will also face hard times social and maybe even physical exile and pain. But in the end it's all worth it because y'all will have eternal life with me."

"Cinemagogue"

Cinema is a modern day pulpit. Movie theaters are modern day pulpits; people flock to their local multiplexes, group together, and find themselves moved by a worldview revealed in story form, allowing themselves to be emotionally led by directors and screenwriters who influence how we feel, think, and even act. "Cinemagogue" features monthly film viewings, followed by an expository exploration of narrative themes and spiritual parallels. The reason I want to do this is I believe that God is a story teller, that we are created with an impulse to tell stories because we are created in the image and likeness of God. So I believe that story telling drive whether around a camp fire or whether it's making a very elaborate musical or movie production actually springs from the creativity instilled in us by our creator. So even if people don't know God, acknowledge God or whatever that spark is still there and we can look at that and unravel a little bit about our philosophies and spirituality, some tremendous and deep things even in a movie like "Taladega Nights." I don't know when I will start this or even if I have anyone who will want to invest time into doing it But e-mail me or facebook me if you're intrested or if you have a Movie you would like to "Cinemagogue" or if you could think of anything that would help make this idea work better.

Hypocrites

In about 3 weeks I'm going to be teaching my first lesson in front of high school students and, I am honestly distressed at how they will take it, at first I wanted to do a fun message or a message that wasn't too deep and I had a list of topics I could speak on but none of them popped out at me so I e-mailed them to a couple of people I trusted deeply and one of them told me to start out in prayer
and ask GOD what He wants me to share not what I want to share and spend quite a bit of time in prayer while I'm reading His Word He will give me something He wants me to teach. And so I did as he said and the topic I feel God wants me to speak on is a very deep and for me personal level because not too long ago I was doing the exact same thing. The lesson I will be teaching on is all of Matthew 23, And it is all about false teachers and hypocrites. so with that said I should be doing some more studying but I leave you with an excerpt from an article I recently read by an Atheist.

"CHRISTIANS ARE HYPOCRITES"

Christians, they love to talk about how loving, dutiful and compassionate they are, yet I have yet to meet ONE who does not practice hypocrisy to the highest degree. Their willful ignorance of the Bible combined with their two faced idealism to preach it, has made us sick, hasn’t it? For nearly two thousand years Biblicists have been lecturing people on the importance of adhering to the Bible’s teachings on ethics, manners, and morality. They quote Jesus and Paul profusely, with a liberal sprinkling of Old Testament moralism. The problem with their approach lies not only in an oft- noted failure to practice what they preach, but an equally pronounced tendency to ignore what the Bible itself, preaches. Christians practice what can only be described as “selective morality”. What they like, they cling to and shove down other’s throats; what they don’t like, they ignore fervently. That which is palatable and acceptable is supposedly applicable to all; while that which is obnoxious, inconvenient, or self-denying is only applicable to those addressed 2,000 years ago. Their hypocrisy is so rampant that even the validity of calling oneself “Christian” is in question. I see so many people enjoy quoting the Ten Commandments, the Sermon on the Mount, and some of Paul’s sermons, but don’t even PRETEND to heed other, equally valid, maxims.
