Hypocrites

In about 3 weeks I'm going to be teaching my first lesson in front of high school students and, I am honestly distressed at how they will take it, at first I wanted to do a fun message or a message that wasn't too deep and I had a list of topics I could speak on but none of them popped out at me so I e-mailed them to a couple of people I trusted deeply and one of them told me to start out in prayer
and ask GOD what He wants me to share not what I want to share and spend quite a bit of time in prayer while I'm reading His Word He will give me something He wants me to teach. And so I did as he said and the topic I feel God wants me to speak on is a very deep and for me personal level because not too long ago I was doing the exact same thing. The lesson I will be teaching on is all of Matthew 23, And it is all about false teachers and hypocrites. so with that said I should be doing some more studying but I leave you with an excerpt from an article I recently read by an Atheist.

"CHRISTIANS ARE HYPOCRITES"

Christians, they love to talk about how loving, dutiful and compassionate they are, yet I have yet to meet ONE who does not practice hypocrisy to the highest degree. Their willful ignorance of the Bible combined with their two faced idealism to preach it, has made us sick, hasn’t it? For nearly two thousand years Biblicists have been lecturing people on the importance of adhering to the Bible’s teachings on ethics, manners, and morality. They quote Jesus and Paul profusely, with a liberal sprinkling of Old Testament moralism. The problem with their approach lies not only in an oft- noted failure to practice what they preach, but an equally pronounced tendency to ignore what the Bible itself, preaches. Christians practice what can only be described as “selective morality”. What they like, they cling to and shove down other’s throats; what they don’t like, they ignore fervently. That which is palatable and acceptable is supposedly applicable to all; while that which is obnoxious, inconvenient, or self-denying is only applicable to those addressed 2,000 years ago. Their hypocrisy is so rampant that even the validity of calling oneself “Christian” is in question. I see so many people enjoy quoting the Ten Commandments, the Sermon on the Mount, and some of Paul’s sermons, but don’t even PRETEND to heed other, equally valid, maxims.

I have been told that I haven't posted in a while by some people, o.k. here's the deal I don't think I have much to say and talk about but since I haven't posted in a while I'll try and post twice today here's one. Well Round 2

Well I thought I was done posting today and I was just told that I needed to post something else so here's a short little story I've rewritten form a reading I heard a long while ago. and without any more jibber-jabber on my part here's "The Soldier and the Little Girl."

A few months ago I was coming home from Oklahoma and while I was heading to my gate all of the sudden I heard these people clap and cheer and then all of the sudden moving through the terminal was a group of soldiers in there camos, as they were moving to their gate everyone was cheering and clapping and when I saw those soldiers about 30 or 40 of them being applauded it hit me I’m not alone I’m not the only red blooded American that still loves the country and supports our troops. So we’re clapping and just when I thought I couldn’t be any more proud of my country I saw this little girl no more than six or seven years old ran up to one of the male soldiers kneeled down and said hi. The little girl then asked him if he would give something to her daddy for her, and the young soldier who didn’t look any older than maybe twenty-two said he would try and what did she want to give her daddy. Then suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of the soldier and gave him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed on the cheek the mother of the little girl who said her daughter’s name was Courtney said her husband was a marine and had been in Iraq for eleven months now as she was explaining who much the young Courtney missed her father the young soldier began to tear up. When this temporarily single mother was done explaining her situation all the soldier’s huddled together and one of the other service men pulled out a military walkie-talkie they started playing with the device and began talking back and forth to it. After about ten to fifteen seconds of this the young soldier walked back over to Courtney bent down and said this to her “I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you” he then hugged this little girl that he just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek he finished with saying that he loves you more than anything and he’s coming home very soon. The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and the soldier stood to his feet all the soldiers saluted Courtney and her mom I was standing no more than six feet from this whole event. As the soldier began to leave heading toward their gate people resumed their applause and as I stood their applauding and looking around there were very few dry eye including my own that young soldier in one of the last acts of selflessness turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek.

I'm new so sue me.

To be honest I really don't know what this blog will turn out to be, it's kind of an experiment for me in almost every sense of the word and if anyone decides to read it and could think of anything for me to talk about send it to me but let's keep it pg-13 because I said so. And I guess that's it short and sweet.
